I had some trouble trying to figure out the GIMP program. It's unlike any photoshop program I've used before. It took me quite some time to even get just the spider transferred. I couldn't figure out how to blur the edges of it very well so that it looked more smooth. Any tips? Any advice I looked up confused me further :/
Here are the originals

What a cool looking image! I by no means would ever wanna meet up with a spider that big while hiking that is for sure!! LOL! I think you did well with this. I hope to also learn a bit more with the Photoshop program too! GOOD luck!!
ReplyDeleteYou did great with these two photos. The spider looks huge crawling up the side of the ledge. It looks like it could have been an original photo. Great job.
ReplyDeleteI really liked the contrast of the HUGE spider on the small cliff--in a photo, that is. I was out hiking yesterday, really glad I've never come across one that big. :) It looks really natural.
ReplyDeleteOh my.....I hate spiders...It looks like Shelob from the Lord of the Rings! Really, really awesome though! Due to the lighting of the image, and the darkness of the spider, it looks like just a silhouette of a giant spider, which adds to the eeriness of the image. Good job!
ReplyDeleteFirst things first I have to say EWWW...I completely 100% have arachnophobia. However, I held my vomit down long enough to see what a great job you did here. It actually looks like the creepy spider was crawling up the cliff. It can be interpreted as either a very, very large spider or a very, very zoomed in or close up photo.
ReplyDeleteNice job choosing two photos that go well together. The spider and the cliff are both very dark and look like they go together. It is also a creative idea.
ReplyDeleteYou have done a wonderful job with these images. Using both silhouetted images, makes a very consistent final product. Keep using the tools and look up more tutorials via Youtube and go to the GIMP Site for more tutorials as well. Once you start to use the program regularly, it will become no problem for you to do this kind of work.
